Biographical / Historical
The Department of Cultural Studies was established in September 2000 and is one of the disciplines under Faculty of Arts in Lingnan University. It is interdisciplinary in nature and in form, which develop and refine students’ intellectual and creative capacities as well as their community-oriented knowledge and consciousness. In September 2000, the Department started its Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in cultural studies; in September 2003, the department launched its Master of Cultural Studies (MCS) Programme to further enhance academic research in Cultural Studies in Hong Kong.
