Scope and Contents
This collection consists mainly the book 「華南中国の近代とキリスト教」authored by Dr. Doi Ayumu based on his PhD thesis. He donated the book to Lingnan Archives as a gratitute of our support rendered. The cover of the book featured a Szto Wai's painting of Swasey Hall.

Biographical / Historical
Dr. Doi Ayumu 土肥歩 was awarded PhD from the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo (東京大学大学院総合文化研究科). His PhD thesis topic featured the contemporary development of Christian in South China, of which the history of Lingnan University (former Canton Christian College), and Leung Faat, preacher who has close relation with Lingnan University form parts of his research. Dr. Doi later published his PhD thesis as a book entitled 「華南中国の近代とキリスト教」. Dr. Doi Ayumu visited Lingnan Archives in early 2013, where he surveyed relevant records to support his research.
