  • Biographical / Historical

    The Department of Chinese (formerly named as Department of Chinese Literature and History, 1967-1993) was established in 1967 and is one of the disciplines under Faculty of Arts in Lingnan University. The Department had been offering Honours Diploma Course in Chinese Studies. In the academic year of 1993/1994, its first Honours Degree programme, Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Chinese was introduced. The department also offers Master of Arts in Chinese and MPhil/PhD in Chinese for further studies in Chinese studies.

  • Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of administrative records and course proposals from 1985 onwards that outline the structure and development, as well as the academic programs of the Department of Chinese. The materials provide detailed information on departmental objectives, advisory board members and external examiniers, academic matters (courses and syllubuses, listing of academic staff and their responsibilities), and administrative matters (organizational chart, examination regulations, miscellaneous administrative procedures).

    Arranged in one sub-group: Administrative records. Materials are further divided by two formats: Departmental manuals and Course proposals, and are organized in chronological order.
