  • Biographical History

    李瑞明生於廣州,幼時於當地接受教育,曾先後就學於廣州市立小學,近郊縣立南海中學。 1937年因戰亂而逃難到香港,於1938-1941年間曾就讀拔萃男書院。1941年12月7日太平洋戰爭爆發,聖誕節香港淪陷,隨即返回內地,在粵北坪石就讀於培正培道聯合中學,完成中學教育,1942年考入戰時韶關仙人廟嶺南大學文學院經濟系,抗戰勝利後返回康樂原址畢業,獲頒文學士,為超社校友。於1959年再獲香港大學教育文憑,之後赴笈美國匹茲堡大學(University of Pittsburgh, United States)進修,獲頒高等教育行政科哲學博士學位。



  • Scope and Contents

    This collection consists of various types of materials created or cumulated by Dr Lee Sui-ming, with the bulk of records are relevant to the history of Lingnan University covering from its founding year since 1888 at Guangzhou, until its re-establishment in Hong Kong after 1967. Records included publications or works by Dr. Lee himself or others, documents, correspondences, typescripts, manuscripts, photographs, audio-visual materials, artifacts, etc.

    This collection is open for research use by prior appointment (please contact Lingnan Archives through email: Fragile materials access may be restricted. Records that contain personal information will be closed to protect individual privacy, to which would be noted at respective series, subseries or file level.

    Requests for permission to reproduce or publish material from this collection should be directed to Lingnan University Archives. It is the responsibility of the researcher to identify and satisfy the holders of all copyrights.

    Received from Dr. Lee Sui-ming in a number of installments taken place during 2012 to 2015.

  • Physical Description

    Materials, in majority are reproduction copies. Unless otherwise noted at File or Item descriptions, materials could be assumed as reproduction copy.

  • Processing Information

    Dr. Lee have arranged his records with multiple files or groupings for loose-leaf materials. Upon the transferal of records, Dr. Lee introduced to Lingnan Archives staff in person where the original provenance was decommissioned. Dr. Lee would make recommendations towards the arrangement of his collection of records. The major grouping arrangement reflects the advises given by Dr. Lee, with additional groupings down to series / file level based on the nature of the records were added by Lingnan Archives.
